Deaneries Hold Elections to Fill Vacancies on Diocesan Council
| To enact canonical changes made at our last Diocesan Convention that move the election of Diocesan Council representatives to each deanery, elections were held in three of our four deaneries online via SimplyVoting during the week of January 5-12. We were able to achieve a quorum in each deanery and elect those representatives. The results are as follows: Pee Dee-Waccamaw Deanery: Mike Roberts of St. Anne’s, Conway was elected as lay representative. West Charleston Deanery: The Rev. Michael Crandall of St. George’s, Summerville was elected as clergy representative. Peninsula Deanery: The Rev. Brooks Boylan of Christ Church, Mount Pleasant was elected as clergy representative. There were no vacancies in the Southern Deanery so an election there was not necessary. An election will be held after this year’s diocesan convention to fill the clergy seat in the Southern Deanery. Many thanks to all who welcomed the nominations and stood for these elections. To learn more about Diocesan Council and see a listing of all current members, visit our website at this link. |
