Diocesan Prayer Calendar/Anglican Cycle of Prayer

Historically, the Diocese of South Carolina publishes the Bishop’s visitation schedule combined with the Diocesan Prayer Calendar. As a symbol of our unity in Christ within this diocese, churches are listed on the prayer calendar on the dates when the Bishop visits (those congregations are listed with “visitation” noted). On other Sundays we pray for other congregations of the diocese, diocesan institutions, and other ministries. Unlike previous years, there will not be a visitation on each Sunday a congregation is listed, only if it is noted with “visitation.”

As a diocese within the Anglican Communion, we also include the Anglican Cycle of Prayer (this links to the most recent version), a way for Anglicans around the world to pray together for all the provinces, churches and dioceses of the Communion, including The Diocese of South Carolina. The Anglican Cycle of Prayer from 2023 to 2026 is now available to download in a format that can be imported into calendars. Learn more at this link

Grants for Congregations

Parish and Mission Support Grants – Applications ongoing

This grant program draws from the existing Parishes and Missions Support budget line item, which is funded at $175,000 in 2025. This money is available to churches in need of emergency or temporary funding. Requests of more than $5,000 will be reviewed by the Diocesan Finance Committee and then approved by Diocesan Council. These grants can be used for expenses including, but not limited to, clergy or lay salaries, rent, and other initiatives to enhance parish life.

TENS: The Episcopal Network for Stewardship

Congregations are invited to access valuable resources for their annual giving campaigns through The Episcopal Network for Stewardship

The Episcopal Diocese of South Carolina is a member of TENS, The Episcopal Network for Stewardship.  TENS is an association of church leaders who understand, practice, and proclaim God’s call to generosity.  TENS’ vision is to provide training and resources for stewardship leaders across The Episcopal Church and beyond.

A primary benefit to membership is that all the congregations in The Episcopal Diocese of South Carolina have access to the annual giving campaign that TENS designs as a way of inviting the wider church to explore how the choices we make with our money and giving reflect our faith and values.

The materials includes bulletin inserts, introductory letters, pledge cards and other materials.  For the password, congregations are asked to call Betsy Pritchard in the diocesan office at 843-259-2016 or email her at bpritchard@episcopalchurchsc.org.
