Online Training

Online training is provided by The Church Pension Group on behalf of The Episcopal Church through Praesidium Academy.   Praesidium Academy provides training in short, focused courses that can normally be completed in 30-45 minutes.  Praesidium Academy is the updated platform for such training, replacing the Safeguarding modules through Armatus in previous years.   These courses can be taken from any location where a high-speed Internet connection is available.  Individual courses must be completed to receive credit for completion. One cannot stop mid-module and ‘save’ progress.

If you completed this training in the last few years through a parish that is not part of The Diocese of South Carolina, please contact the Diocesan Office (843.259.2016). It is possible that you may secure the certificate of completion from your prior parish or diocesan office to share for your records with this diocese.  Please refer to the diocesan website for the required modules.

If you need to begin your online modules with Praesidium Academy and you wish to enroll in training, please see the “Enrollment” section below.

Prior Safeguarding Training

If you have taken online modules through Safeguarding Online and the Armatus platform, you should be able to utilize your username, login, and password for continued access and update your training.  Login here.   Please contact your parish Safeguarding/Praesidium Academy administrator if you have questions or need assistance.

Enrollment

To enroll in courses, you will need to have the appropriate registration code for your organization.  Please contact the Safeguarding Administrator at your church or Betsy Pritchard in the Diocesan Office at 843.259.2016 or bpritchard@episcopalchurchsc.org

To Enroll for Training

  1. Go to https://www.praesidiumacademy.com/redeem
  2. Fill in your contact information including First Name, Last Name, Email Address, and desired Password.
  3. Enter the appropriate registration code for your organization (ask your Administrator).
  4. Click Validate to confirm registration code.
  5. Click the checkbox to agree to the Terms & Conditions.
  6. Click Redeem.
  7. Write down your user login and password for future reference.
  8. Answer the Registration Questions about your status and role within the organization.
  9. Click Save & Continue.
  10. To begin taking training immediately, scroll down and click a course to start the content
