Call to Convention Issued; Registration open 235th Diocesan Convention

Do not remember the former things, or consider the things of old. I am about to do a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
Isaiah 43:18-19
The Call to Convention has been published for our 235th Diocesan Convention in November. Read it on the diocesan website at this link. As noted in the opening of the call, from the earliest days of the diocese until its most recent, the Spirit has been working in our midst to direct us through the tests and trials of our times toward a more just and joyful future. Inspired by the words of the prophet Isaiah above, convention will provide an opportunity to contemplate the new things of God and to take up the ministry of the year ahead. This year’s convention theme is “A New Season” and the event will be held November 6-8, 2025, at Christ Church, Mt. Pleasant.
As was previously announced, this year our convention will welcome two very special guest speakers: the Rev. Luther E. Smith, Jr., Ph.D., will be the keynote speaker, and the Rev. Carter Heyward, Ph.D., will preach at the convention’s Opening Eucharist. Both speakers will also offer workshops and participate in a panel discussion with Bishop Woodliff-Stanley. Learn more about these exceptional speakers on the diocesan website at this link.
Diocesan Convention presents opportunities to do the necessary yearly work for our diocese while gathering together in what often feels a bit like a “family reunion.” This year’s format continues in an expanded model, including worship, workshops, business, and fellowship.
Registration is now open for clergy, delegates, and visitors. Room blocks have been reserved at two hotels in the area and attendees may now make their reservations. Find the links for both registration and hotel room reservations on the 235th Diocesan Convention page on the diocesan website at this link.
We hope that everyone in the diocese has this event marked your calendar, particularly those who will serve their congregations as delegates to convention this year, but all are welcome to attend. Read more on our website at the link below.
