Court-Ordered Mediation Rescheduled to Sept. 26

The mediation session between The Episcopal Church in South Carolina (TECSC) and the breakaway group has been rescheduled to Thursday, September 26. Both parties were ordered to enter mediation by First Circuit Court Judge Edgar Dickson at a hearing on July 23 of this year. The mediation is intended to address the ongoing dispute over enforcing the South Carolina Supreme Court’s 2017 decision on diocesan and parish properties, as well as a lawsuit filed in November 2017 by the breakaway group against TECSC under a South Carolina law known as the Betterments Act.
