Bishop to Host Evening Compline on Monday of Holy Week
Bishop Ruth Woodliff-Stanley invites all members of the diocese to a special service of Compline on Monday of Holy Week, March 30, at 8 pm on Zoom. Here is the link to join the service.
In his Ash Wednesday letter to the church, Presiding Bishop Sean Rowe encouraged bishops in other dioceses to hold services of prayer for justice and peace in our nation and the whole world. In the spirit of his letter, we in The Episcopal Diocese of South Carolina will gather with the wider church “to lament the violence and hatred that has come to define our common life and to witness to our conviction that Christians must come together across our unholy divisions.”
The bishop led a similar service in the wake of the violence in Minnesota. As we approach our yearly remembrance of the passion of Jesus, all are invited to mark this Holy Monday with prayers for repentance, consolation, justice and peace.
