August 2020 Clergy News

The Rev. Dr. Jennie Olbrych has been called to serve as Interim Rector of Calvary Episcopal Church, Charleston. She has served in the Diocese of South Carolina in many capacities since her ordination in 1988 including, most recently, as vicar of St. James-Santee, McClellanville, from which she retired in 2018, and Lower School Chaplain at Porter Gaud School.

Dr. Olbrych also served the Diocese as Canon for Interim Ministry in the 1990s and brings much experience to the position. Of the call, Archdeacon Callie Walpole noted: “Jennie has long been a strong and steady rock of our diocese.” Dr. Olbrych will be with Calvary for a period of nine to twelve months and her first Sunday was August 16.
